The contest period has ended. Thank you for all the amazing entries. Stay tuned over the next few days for the announcement of our winners!
We worked with our friends over at Carve Designs to create a one-of-a-kind T9er surfboard (shaped by Entropy) for one of you lucky ladies to win. Here’s all we’re asking – dazzle us with your creativity by telling us why YOU deserve this sweet 7′ sustainably-made ride.
Would you like to fulfill a life-long dream to catch a wave? Use it as a surf deco coffee table, or save drowning children in faraway oceans? Whatever the cause, tell us in 99 words or less by posting a comment below.
Share your words by June 1st, 2009 for a chance to win the surfboard awesomeness. Fret not, ’cause we’ll be giving away 2 prizes to the runners-up ($100 gift card + Team T9 membership).

I believe in the power of water and the will to ride it into foam. I believe in long days at work and long hours working out. I believe in the power of Will. I believe that power comes from disciplining yourself not others. I think a life, long lived with no scars, is not living. I am a letter carrier, a student, a future police officer, a daughter and a lover. I long to ride the waves like I ride the snow. I am a future surfer.
the board would be great for rehabbing my ankle … back in feb, suffered an open dislocation while playing soccer. would use the board on dry land with a bosu or something under it. when i get the OKs from my docs, i’ll treat myself to several trips to the water. i’ve always been a land person … to tri’s, only du’s … this would definitely help me evolve and allow me to experience this water fun i’ve heard so much about.
I am writing to you on Mother’s Day. I was reading your T9 catalog and the big Carve Board caught my eye, I knew it was perfect. My mom is 46 years old and last year decided to take up surfing. I am 14 years old and wouldn’t let her go out alone. We were instantly hooked! Seeing my mother having so much fun riding the waves means the world to me. Winning this Carve Surfboard would be the best mother’s day present ever!
ARGUMENTS IN FAVOR OF NOT LIVING
Maybe it would be easier to limit all activities to the bare essentials. Each moment of every day a monotonous pattern of predictable tasks meant to provide comfort and expected outcomes. No change. No conflict. No chances. No chance to be let down by friends or let down by my own fears blocking the way up the mountain. Just stay away from all mountains, oceans, cold uncomfortable weather. Avoid all abrasions, bruises and concussions. Don’t play the game and I won’t let my team down. Maybe instead I should learn to surf life.
My partner of 10 plus years loves your company. A retired Police officer, an amazing athlete ~ diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis four years ago. She lost her ability to drive, to fly, to cycle, to surf. Lisa thought she might never ride again; Sadly,3 years ago she sold her beautiful board to a woman vacationing in her favorite surf spot ~ Zihuatanejo, Mexico. She fought back to great health, cycling again and ready to go surfing. She is still an athlete….but now she is an ATHLETE living with MS. I would LOVE her to ride this board.
While I currently reside in landlocked CO, surfing has been the best part of my last few coastal vacations. This year I hope to jump through my final academic ‘hoop’ and, if sucessful, have decided that I will send myself to surfschool if I manage to complete that goal. The uber cool surfboard would add that extra touch 🙂
I used to surf as a kid but my board was stolen when moving from my apartment to my house. I am 56 years old now and I can not afford a new board because I lost my husband the same year that we moved to this house. All the money I make goes towards my bills and my children’s college tuition. I deserve this board because I live 5 blocks from the beach but can only watch people surf. I haven’t bought myself anything in so long and feel that I have worked for this. It all comes down to this being a great thing in a life where everyone around me believes my stress is going to kill me, this is the relaxation I need. Please give this to a hard working mother.
As a sophomore in college, I caught my first wave. It was a tiny blue curl, a rolling little lump of seawater, but it was all mine. I coasted my long board into it, and stood up, a huge smile curled across my face. I thought I might surf forever. I since graduated college, sold my board, moved away from the ocean, got a job and had two kids. It has been a long time since that first wave and nothing sounds more lovely than catching my next wave on the this Title Nine Board!
My ocean is only an hour away, but I might as well be in the desert. The job, the kids, the dogs, the house…if I had a board, I would play hooky for one sweet day with the waves. Right now, I am just keeping my head above water. Pick me.
HiT9rs. I’m a 47 year old veterinarian without much time to play. I work out regularly at the Y after work. When there is time for play AND the weather is good I hop down to Naragansett and take the vintage Harbour longboard out. But this novice surfer is afraid I’ll hurt the board. Help! If I win the carveboard I’ll meet you ‘down the Cape’ for a catalog shoot with EAST COAST women. P.S. I’ve been a fan since y’all were recommended by a softball teammate in 1991.
