Little known fact, spins her own yarn.
Our goal was to sail around the world in our CAL 39 sailboat (same boat used to film “All is Lost” with Robert Redford). Threw the docklines in Aug 2010 from our slip in Alameda, CA. 20,000 nautical miles and 3+ years later, we made it to Langkawi, Malaysia, just 80 miles from Thailand. We only stopped because both my husband and myself were diagnosed with cancer. Now we go to chemo treatments together.
What an amazing adventure we had sailing the South Pacific (California coast line, Mexico, French Polynesia, Suwarrow, Am. Samoa, Samoa, Tonga, New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore and Malyasia). We did it on our own bottom. I thought that was a challenge, but now we have a bigger challenge which we’ll fight, after all if we can sail across the Pacific to SE Asia, I know that we can beat this bigger challenge!
And of course, I loved wearing title 9 clothing – easy to pack on a sailboat where I had two drawers and one small closet!
I can see clearly now.
