Working Out
Happy from the Inside Out and Living life to the fullest….surrounded by
Family, Friends, Food & Fun!
Life is your journey don’t worry where your destination might be
Beauty is like “shalom”, it is much more than what’s on the surface just as “shalom” is more than “peace”. Beauty is to be whole, to be complete, to radiate an inner satisfaction.
My picture didn’t post, so I am trying again.

My name is Amanda. Three days after I graduated from my undergrad college in Virginia, I moved out west to Jackson Hole, Wyoming to work as a raft guide on the Snake River. I currently work for a rafting company on the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon and am getting my Master’s in Environmental Science in Flagstaff, AZ.
In between this, I also worked for the ski resort in Taos, NM- enjoying the powder of the southwest Rockies. I also spent a summer living on San Juan Island up in Washington working for a sea kayaking company- viewing orca whales, bald eagles, and the snowcapped Washington mountains from our sea kayaks and living the guide lifestyle setting up home in a tent for the summer. I also spent time working on an organic farm in California because I love working with food sustainability and keeping things close, local, and simple. I love guiding, the outdoors, and the environment!
In undergrad I double majored in environmental science and geology. So I also enjoy climbing trees, identifying rocks and plants, and striving for a sustainable lifestyle.
I just got back from a week in the Channel Islands, CA in the beginning of August doing my field work for my Master’s thesis in paleoecology. Mostly I play in the dirt and dig up fossils that show us how vegetation has changed in a particular area in relation to changes in climate. I will likely continue on for my PhD.
I was a basketball player in high school and was our President and Captain of our club basketball team in college. I also played every intramural sport I could- basketball, volleyball, soccer, softball, and flag football. I can say I have quite a few Intramural Champion t-shirts! I was also in the running club. On our “fun run” days we’d run to a beach nearby, an ice cream store nearby that was giving out free treats, or once in awhile on a weekend morning we’d run to eat pancakes. This past spring, a friend and I wanted to run a half marathon, so we made our own 13.1 mile course on trails here in Arizona. It was successful! Other past times of mine include eating chocolate, baking zucchini bread, and making curry.

As I continue with my training this summer for the Fall season of Cross Country with my high school team, I work closely with my body, listening to it and its’ needs. A good complementary exercise for running is yoga; it’s an act I feel helps me find inner peace as well as helps me control my breathing (a factor much important for my races). I am inspired to have a fit and toned body that can not only preform well with the sports and activities I am involved with, but to excel in any aerobic exercise I come across.
In the spring season I am involved with Track and Field, throwing my body over bars and into sand and across the 100m finish line. This has always been my field of interest. Being a track captain this year helped me become more involved with my fellow “Trackletes” lives and to work proactively with others.
In the summers I enjoy spending my time backpacking or climbing with friends, mountain biking with my dad, or exploring the body in a Yoga Studio, (what better way to find inner peace than in a headstand?)

I believe I am created for beauty: to discover it, celebrate it, share it, and invite others to it. I believe in every individual’s ability to heal, from pain, shame, oppression, and lies. I believe a true leader not only serves but also identifies the strengths of others, calling them to partake in the endeavor at hand, and find deep satisfaction.
I like to play: dance in the kitchen with my mom and sister in my youth and now with my husband and son, roll down grassy hills, be a horse, chase my son around the house, nibble on his ribs—anything to hear his delighted squeals and see his wide eyes as he giggles and runs away hoping for more.
I have watched my mother and grandmother live and die well. They chose joy and forgiveness when they walked this earth, and my mom, in her battle with cancer, chose the same in her departing. Her lap swimming, cycling, tennis playing, kitchen dancing, and overall vigor for physical activities, along with her muscles, her breast, her hair, all disappeared. What appeared ever more clearly as her physical strength and beauty disappeared, was her internal beauty. Her body failed, her spirit soared. She spoke tenderly, never once complained, still managed to find humor and make us laugh, and she loved so sweetly. I want a strong mind and strong body; I have them both, but more than those, I want the true test of my person to abide in my inner roots—the part of the tree that no one sees. I want to choose faith, forgiveness, and hope that I may have a meaningful impact on my family, my community, my students, and the teen moms with whom I share life.
And, I like to swim, do triathlons, long board, snowboard, kayak, backpack, write letters and send them in the mail, bake, make tasty meals, make new friends in the park—or wherever, make my husband laugh and smile, and watch ocean waves.
Hi!
My caption for this photo would be
“Strength is Beauty”
My name is Jordan Schweitzer and I’m a 20 year old female that lives in Bend, OR. I recieved information on the Title Nine photo shoot for late september from a trainer at the Athletic Club of Bend ( who got the information from Dave Chun) who thought I would be a good fit!
A little about myself. I am a ski cross athlete and am pursuing my dream to make it to the 2018 olympics. I am extremely active, and love to do anything outdoors. In the winter I love to ski back country and race ski cross competitively. During my off season I’m at the gym everyday, and really enjoy paddle boarding, road biking, and hiking. I’m always up for a good adventure though! I have actually been really interested in fitness modeling and wanted to eventually try it at some point in my life.
I have attached a few photos that sums up who I am. The first photo is paddle boarding up at sparks lake at sunset. The second photo is a picture of me biking up to bachelor a few weeks ago. The third photo is of my friend and I caving ( I’m on the left). If you need any more pictures I can send some more! Thank you so much for the opportunity. I love to work hard, have fun, smile big, and laugh lots!
Thanks again,
Jordan Schweitzer
