Copywriter, make-it-righter
Christy, mother of two, believes the right word is worth a thousand re-writes. A runner and former college lacrosse player, Christy believes that speaking up is everything – even if you put your foot in your mouth now and then.
Meet Courtney…wickedly funny, full-time Smarty Pants and Lover of Anything Bright and Shiny!
Hoards super cute running clothes (obsessively) so she can outfit her daily miles in style.
Adores singing off-key to 70’s music and is prone to hijacking her kids’ playlists just to mix things up!
Makes a mean little smoothie guaranteed to make the pickiest foodie break into a happy dance!
An eternal enthusiast of the sun, trees, flowers, mountains and anything else this great big beautiful Earth can produce. And granola. She really likes granola.
I couldn’t do this the first time I tried.
My caption would be:
Occupation: Quilter extraordinaire and full-time wife and mom. Runner, martial artist, auto racer. Maker of healthy and yummy food.
Goals: Being a role model for my daughters, to show them that you can do anything to which you put your mind, and that gender stereotypes don’t define what they can and cannot do.
I may not be smooth or supple or speedy anymore, but I can still love to move.
Occupation: writer/biologist/teacher with a passion for restoring nature and our place in it.
Dream: Hike the Continental Divide Trail end to end before I’m 65 (I’ve got 7.5 years to get organized)
Big Leap: Survived losing my husband and the love of my life to brain cancer, learned trim carpentry to finish and sell the big house he built for us (put in all the baseboard and trimmed 42 window and door openings), helped design and build my own tiny house at the other end of the block, all in two+ years. Whew!
Brag: After all that carpentry, now I have Michelle Obama arms….
Practice creates success
At 51…I run for fun, hike for the view, paddle board in Booth Bay Harbor to see the Seals. My glass is always half full. Wife, Mother of three, Na Na of three, ICU Nurse, I am loving it all!!
Dedicated, creative, always-learning teacher has finally found her balance of workouts (running, swimming, yoga) and relaxation (reading, baking, knitting).
