Because we get so many questions about our “models,” I thought I’d share some of our guidelines:
Rule #1: If you’ve always wanted to be a model, you can’t model for us. We only use gals with real bodies — no additives or preservatives.
Our “models” have real jobs or consuming passions. Since we spend a LOT of time with our “models,” they’ve gotta be interesting and interested, someone with whom we’d want to spend a lot of time.
And always, unselfconsciously confident.
In the end, our “models” are regular women, leading regular lives, lives not so very different from our own.

Dear Ms. Park,
Although I do applaud you use of “Real” women, no preservatives, no additives. I find it difficult not to mention that your catalog, while offering lovely clothes modeled by beautiful ” real ” women, does not offer clothing sized larger than size 14. some xl’s even may go up to size 16.
Imagine that! Here we are in the year 2011, trying to give our active and athletic daughters a good body image and yet company’s like yours still put parameters on the word beautiful!
I find that in reality you are not promoting the unselfconciously confidant woman of older age or larger size…..ME…(curves included), but in fact you are re-defining what an athletic woman should actually resemble, unfavorably so.
Guess the rest of us don’t fit your demographic.
Wish I could buy your clothes…the swimsuits are especially great! I’m a size 16 and unselfconciously confidant enough not to squeeze into a size 14!
Why are all of your models so young?
loyal shopper turning 62
I love that you represent real people in your catalogs as well. If they aren’t models, how do you get them? I am curious?
Of course would love to see some 40 ish gals in there. I am an athletic, fit 41 year old that would love a chance. Hee, Hee!!
I love your catalog and your real women models. I have flown from Cleveland to Denver to particpate in your 9.9K two years in a row.. however I do have one beef. I run 4 days a week, hike, kayak, walk my dog etc… and I am a size 16-18. Would be great if some of your models were persons who are healthy and active but not necessarily size 8 or smaller.
Thanks!
Chris
I agree with Katherine and Nancy. As a 30 some year old woman, I’d like to see what older women are doing. It’ll give me something to strive for as I gracefully approach their age.
Love Title Nine!!!!!
One of the best parts of your catalogue are your “models”. The everyday, energized, woman. After I retired two years ago from the corporate world, I was lucky to find a dance aerobics class that needed a teacher. Having had dance lessons when I was young, I thought this would be a great outlet for me to work off a few pounds, tone up and get back to dancing and sharing what I know. WOW!!! who knew the class would go from 12 to 37 participants in less than 2 years. I teach 4 days a week and creategggg my own routines, dances and music.Probably around 20 hours a week is spent on creating and choregraphing different routines regularly so the class stays interested and energized. It’s all volunteer, no fees are charged. The reason I’m writing to you is because of your no bounce bras, especially the “Last resort”. Which isn’t bad looking to me. It has been a life saver to this 38DDD, dancer, now down to a 38DD. I’ve lost 35 lbs and toned up from a size 16 to a 10. It would have been very hard to do all of this without the confidence the bra gave me to perform in front of a group of ladies and not be self concience about “the bounce!” Thanks a bunch and keep up the good work. Just one suggestion , how about a nutural tone for the “last resort bra”. Thanks, Gayle Todd– oh forgot to tell you, I’m 63.. : ) and my average age of ladies in the class is 65! Woohoo!
Yes, but all of your “models” look like pretty standard issue, if athletic, models. How about using some models with different body shapes? I fit in, and wear, some of your large and extra-large sized clothing but I’ve never once seen any woman in your catalog who resembled me at all. I bike long distance, do yoga, run and I have a “real body” that is 5’5″ and 180 lbs. How about including women modeling your clothing who are like me?
Lisa
I agree – it would be nice to see older women portrayed in your catalog. I am a 54 year old RN, mother/stepmother of 6 who enjoys many outdoor activities including racing canoes, skiing, snowshoeing, hiking and running. I have trekked to the base camp of Everest in Nepal and to Machu Picchu in Peru, and intend to keep going! Your catalog is great!
I have always wanted to be a model for Title 9 – how do you recruit your models?
I truly appreciate the use of real models. I wonder though- have you considered any models in the size 12-16 range? When I’m looking through your clothes, sometimes its hard to imagine myself in them because I don’t yet look like your real wonder women.
