Because we get so many questions about our “models,” I thought I’d share some of our guidelines:
Rule #1: If you’ve always wanted to be a model, you can’t model for us. We only use gals with real bodies — no additives or preservatives.
Our “models” have real jobs or consuming passions. Since we spend a LOT of time with our “models,” they’ve gotta be interesting and interested, someone with whom we’d want to spend a lot of time.
And always, unselfconsciously confident.
In the end, our “models” are regular women, leading regular lives, lives not so very different from our own.

Missy,
I love your models! I’ve always been active with the appetite to match, so it’s refreshing to see real women wearing the type of clothes I’d design for myself *if* I could. Keep up to good work! I l just wish Title Nine had a store closer to Virginia Beach. This Colorado girl misses her shop in Boulder!
Title Nine Rocks!

Why don’t you offer more petite dresses? Please reconsider. I want to buy some!
I am a gym owner and wear some of your clothing line. I always appreciate browsing your catalog and seeing women in action, and with muscle. Not string bean chicks that look great in everything. It is important in my field that women feel stunning in their gym attire just like they would in their favorite blue jeans and t-shirt. Thanks for keeping it real!

How does one try-out to be a model? I adore your clothes almost as much as I adore my children and husband, bartending gig, and coaching career, and whats best, I can use your clothes for all three of my passions – sounds like a recipe for a successful model to me!! Plus, I have a secret project that is going to revolutionize the christmas season, you guys will want to be part of it!! Let me know if there is an opportunity to send in a picture or something!
And I hope you NEVER NEVER change this. I also would like to see older women feautured in your catalogue and if you need any models.
Although I know it is hard to tell exactly what age people are.
Your using real women as models is the sole reason I keep buying your great clothes..there are other good catalogues out there but YOU SHOW REAL PEOPLE!
Please please keep it up.
Thanks!
OOPs. I meant to say I know some AMAZING women athletes who are in their sixties and seventies!
Come to MI to do shoot sometime!
Your models are certainly slender by any lens, but also healthy and strong and inspiring. I am an avid runner (former ballerina). When my weight inadvertently dropped to 95 pounds (I am 5’7″), I would literally look at your catalog every single day to remind myself how much better and stronger I would look and feel if I got back up to a healthy weight. Your models really fueled my transformation.
So thanks!
I do think your models are passionate from what I read, but I do not see “real” bodies. I see great athletic bodies, and young women who can wear many clingy things. But I do not see older women, I definitely do not see any large busted women, and it has gotten to the point that although I love your items I no longer order them or ask for them as gifts. But I love the concept of title 9
I admire your “models” every time I get a catalog. Yay to strong women with passion!
I agree with the age comments. I’m 47, bike, run, and hike and have shopped T-9 for years. I’m also a size 8 and it looks like most of your models are sizes 2-4 (at least that’s what they look like). Very few of us are that size and it would be nice to see more “real” women. Thanks!
It’s funny to get this email today because just yesterday my friends and I were talking about the Title 9 models. They are all defintely ‘model-quality’ people. I proposed that if Title 9 really wanted to have regular women as models they should ask their customers to volunteer. I would LOVE to see a year’s worth of catalogs with customers as models. We wear the clothes, we love the clothes and we do all the things the models do – run, swim, hike, bike, etc.. Yet, we’re not perfectly beautiful and I for one would truly enjoy seeing regular women empowered that way. Ok, I dare ya, Missy – ask your customers to model! I would volunteer to do it and you wouldn’t even have to pay me.
