A long way from home
Biking through sun-shady lanes
California Christmas
Fresh snow pounding heart
tall pines on moonlit trail
whisper peace on Earth
kids wake, crack of dawn.
brew black coffee chug it down
snuggle now. gifts can wait.
I wrote this Haiku
to win a present for Mom
she loves Title Nine
Snow capped trees of white
Flakes of crystal fall so soft
Angels in the snow
Winter holidays no matter where
November winds bring change
December we celebrate
The anticipation of future proof
Evergreen branches—
lights of all colors dancing
in my child’s eyes
silver bowls of love
red plates of cake round the fire
wreath of family
