Wanna win this sweet surfboard?
The contest period has ended. Thank you for all the amazing entries. Stay tuned over the next few days for the announcement of our winners!
We worked with our friends over at Carve Designs to create a one-of-a-kind T9er surfboard (shaped by Entropy) for one of you lucky ladies to win. Here’s all we’re asking – dazzle us with your creativity by telling us why YOU deserve this sweet 7′ sustainably-made ride.
Would you like to fulfill a life-long dream to catch a wave? Use it as a surf deco coffee table, or save drowning children in faraway oceans? Whatever the cause, tell us in 99 words or less by posting a comment below.
Share your words by June 1st, 2009 for a chance to win the surfboard awesomeness. Fret not, ’cause we’ll be giving away 2 prizes to the runners-up ($100 gift card + Team T9 membership).
Heads Up: Our contests are only open to Title Nine eMail subscribers. They are our way of saying thanks to our loyal customers. So if you aren’t already a subscriber you will become one by submitting your entry. Click Here to read the official rules.

Why do I deserve this board? The colors match my eyes. My password is boardhead. I surf, windsurf, wakeboard, snowboard and kiteboard. My Dad taught my sibs and me to surf from age 3 in front of our house at Kaimalino. I had five surfboards before I was 13 but none now. I live in NYC and dream of surf all winter, then bodysurf in Nantucket all summer. I make a wicked “pipeline curl” with my tongue in mint chocolate chip cones!
Because I am sick and tired of trying to learn how to surf on my husband’s too short, too squirerly surf board. Because when he says “paddle paddle paddle!” and I am already sitting in water up to my armpits, there is no chance I am going to catch a wave and that really, really bums me out. Because with my own board I can go and learn and surf with some gals for a change.
I am a professional telemark skier/film-maker who lives in Alaska. It is my dream to make an all women’s ski/surf movie in which the inspirational athletes from both of these worlds teach each other their form of riding H2O in style. “Gravity Divas” would be produced with female cinematographers, athletes, photographers, surfers, skiers, and singer/songwriters in fabulous attire sharing their passions across the world. My new surfboard from Entropy would be the Diva of the film!
In Costa Rica I recently did learn
To carve up the waves, what a sweet turn!
Carving down the line
I’m feeling mighty fine
What awesome rides I did earn!
What’s this in the magazine, a sweet board!
One that I could never afford
Oh damn this grad school,
Winning would totally rule
To land I would never again be moored!
Your catalogs are more than just “shopping” to me…they are inspirational. My favorite part is reading about your models…however, they are not models, they are real women…but not like me. I’ve been very envious of them. Their lives seem like such an adventure compared to mine. So, this past February on a trip to Costa Rica, I forced myself out of my comfort zone and tried surfing. What a surprise and thrill when I managed to get on my feet! I’d love to use that board at my beach in Cape May, New Jersey. And besides I figured at age 50 it was about time to break out of my “comfort zone”.
I surfed the night my daughter was born. Not in the ocean, but in my mind and body. I imagined myself rocking in warm water with calm anticipation. When a contraction would start, I’d say, “Here we go!” as if popping up on my board. Then, “Ride it, ride it, ride it” as I breathed through each sensation, barreling towards a shore where I could rest again before the next wave hit.
I’ve only surfed once in reality, long before my daughter was conceived. If I win this surfboard, my daughter and I will surf again!
Before I was married and had 3 kids I lived in Hawaii…it that’s where I learned to surf. It’s been 19 years since living in Hawaii and I have only surfed once in that time. Last summer, my 11 year old son wanted to learn. So off we went to Cowells beach in Santa Cruz to take a lesson. We both got up on our first try and what a rush! Watching my son succeed and love it was the BEST! Having my own board would be huge in continuing to foster our love of surfing!
I am writing for contestant 846. Everything happens for a reason and this contest couldn’t of come at a perfect time. Contestant 846 deserves this surfboard because of who she is, where she is at and what she will do. She found the love of her life and he wants to surf with her on their wedding day. How perfect is that? I am throwing my name in the ring in hopes that Contestant 846 wins this perfect surfboard! Thanks Title Nine.

for contestant 846 Nancy W
My fiancee and I will marry on July 11th. We met in class and Mike decided to talk to me because my waterbottle had a surfing sticker on it. If I like surfing, I must be a cool girl, he thought. That was over 2 years ago. We will marry at one of the only sand beaches in Seattle. Our reception site will have a beach theme, and as we spend time surfing and share that common love, we would LOVE to have a surfboard at the venue, signifying our love for each other and the ocean waves.
There once was a girl named Nancy,
Who wasn’t too antsy for someone to like.
But one day, a man of her fancy came along,
His name was Mike.
It started as lunch, then consecutive ball games,
The more they hung out, they realized they liked the same.
He loved disc golf and surfing was rad,
She couldn’t believe it, as surfing was a skill she wanted to have!
He promised he’d teach her, for this she was joyful,
Yet no surfboard left her feeling sad and woeful.
But alas! A contest for a free board, focused on green,
For which Nancy was so glad and keen!
She hopes she wins, this would be grand,
As a future with Mike will most likely start on the sand.
Once it begins and the sun does set,
Off on their boards for their first wave to get.
