Wanna win this sweet surfboard?
The contest period has ended. Thank you for all the amazing entries. Stay tuned over the next few days for the announcement of our winners!
We worked with our friends over at Carve Designs to create a one-of-a-kind T9er surfboard (shaped by Entropy) for one of you lucky ladies to win. Here’s all we’re asking – dazzle us with your creativity by telling us why YOU deserve this sweet 7′ sustainably-made ride.
Would you like to fulfill a life-long dream to catch a wave? Use it as a surf deco coffee table, or save drowning children in faraway oceans? Whatever the cause, tell us in 99 words or less by posting a comment below.
Share your words by June 1st, 2009 for a chance to win the surfboard awesomeness. Fret not, ’cause we’ll be giving away 2 prizes to the runners-up ($100 gift card + Team T9 membership).

WE WANT THIS BOARD! IT WILL SAVE LIVES
This board will be used as lifeguard safety equipment during the swim portion of our “Get Out There & TRI Series,” working to prevent childhood obesity.
Our triathlons target people of all sizes and athletic abilities. Geared towards creating a positive, healthy environment for the everyday person, the overweight, obese, and armchair athlete, we help people take pride in themselves and try something new.
Please help us provide the safety equipment needed to encourage the “overlooked” to engage in healthy activities, move, and have fun in a safe environment!
My daughter will be 4 in July. She has finally overcome her fear of the ocean, of sticking her head in the water, of blowing bubbles, and riding on Mommy’s surfboard. The trick was her little floatie- which now makes her fearless- and now she would love her own surfboard. She says that when she is 4, she will be too big to ride together with Mom and needs her own board… then, says she- I can go out and hang ten with the big boys. (her brother- 6.5 years old)!
(And you’d get some great photos of her & the board for your magazine cause Mom is a photographer & has a waterproof camera!!) aloha nicole & sammi
Ladies at Carve, Entropy, and Title 9,
I deserve this board, help make it mine!
I’ve tried to learn to surf you see,
with many difficulties.
Red Tide, Hurricanes, and even calm seas
had a way of following me.
I moved stateside, landlocked, miserable,
Had to get back where water was visable.
Got married, had my great kids,(best thing I did!)
added some pounds and put some goals on hold…..
Help me get leaner on a board that is greener,
I will never be too old!
Even though I grew up in Georgia I always dreamed of being a surfer. On my 40th birthday I finally realized that dream. When I stood up on the board I felt on top of the world! That same week my husband was medevaced from the beach and spent several days in ICU. I haven’t been back on a board since. Now he is back to full activity, and it is my belief is that we need to get on surfboards–to feel young and free, to have fun together, outdoors, and with our kids. That’s what life is about!
I have one spring break left with my 17 year old daughter. She has wanted to learn to surf for as long as I can remember. How a Michigan born and raised girl gets this in her head I cannot say, except that she’s daring physically and mentally. If the sport is slightly dangerous, all the better! Snowboard? Bungeee jump? You bet! She’s taught me to be bold and athletic in my adult years. If I win this board, she and I will do “senior spring break” in California, and learn to surf together. A lifelong dream for her and an experience we’ll never forget.
The. Chance. For. Ultimate. Freedom. What could possibly beat starting the day, ending the day, or just spending the day out on the open water? Searching for the perfect ride, or just an open ocean swim on the board, few things are this liberating in life! You may only be miles from home and your hectic life, but the moment you hit the water, surfboard in hand, thoughts of anything more complicated quickly dissappear. And all this takes is a Carve surfboard to get you there…
I first got into surfing when I was about 12 years old. When I started high school I became very involved in extracurricular activities, but I wasn’t surfing as much. Now I live with my boyfriend and two other roommates. I’m a full time student and work as a fulltime hairstylist to pay for college and the other bills. Surfing is my escape and it’s free (kind of). I’ve been using my boyfriend’s brothers’ old board that they bought in a pawn shop about 8 years ago. I know I would definitely be grateful with a new board.
My best friend and I have been surfing together since we were about 8 years old. We love the thrill and the relaxation that come with surfing. There’s nothing better that balances you again. Not too long ago she broke her board surfing. For the past few weeks, we’ve been sharing mine, and she’s using her old beat up board. I know she’s been working hard saving up for a new board but there’s only so much she can work while still in school. She would totally appreciate a new board and would definitely put it to good use!

I would really love to own that beautiful board because I want to spend some time treating myself to learning a new skill… surfing! Back in my “BC” days (before children), I was a very active runner and biker. But I have spent the past twelve years being pregnant, birthing my five amazing children, nursing, and then doing it all over again. (that counts as a sport, yes?) I’ve started running and biking again, and I have recently decided that I’d like to try to learn to surf, and this board would be an AMAZING first surfboard for me!
