Ocean loving Carolina girl finds herself landlocked in Vermont with a career, husband and 2 athletic daughters. We will take that board straight to the water where I can teach them to trust themselves, respect the power of the ocean, and feel the freedom. Roadtrip, bonding, and when we come home it will take a place of honor on the wall where it will tease us until we yank it down and take off again!
My mother had spent the last year battling breast cancer, so we went to Mexico for some relaxation. I wanted to learn to surf and this was the perfect place; a small surfing village. I signed up for lessons and fell in love with it immediately. I also fell in love with my surf instructor. It has only been a few months but I am thinking of moving to the west coast of Mexico to be with him. We plan to enjoy the warm paradise; he wants me to surf with him. I want to, too…I need a surfboard.
I’m a 34 yr. old full time mom of 4 girls – Hailey(9), Marli(7), Sydney(3), and Ellie(2). I’m married to Bill a lifetime surfer of the Great Lakes – yes you can surf in Michigan!! Many of our family vacations are surfing destinations yet my girls and I lack a surfing essential – A BOARD!! This board would truly be a gift to not only me but also to 4 young girls wanting to be a surfer like their dad.
My desire is to share this great sport with my husband and also add a larger female presence to Great Lakes Surfing.
Thank you for considering our entry, Stacy and her girls
Surfs Up! Put the java aside. Grab the board, out the door…
down the block, its to the shore.
Recently I’ve acquired a small trailer located a block from the Atlantic Ocean.
I’ve always desired to learn to surf, now with the ease of the wave, I would be able to achieve. I liked your idea of a coffee table, so simply when not in use at the sea, it would be used as the decor in my trailer.
I am a health care professional with top patient satisfaction scores in my field.
This would be a sweet reward.
Passionate about sustainable designs and being on the cutting edge of new items, describes me to a T! Use of biopolymers, sustainably harvested renewable resources and design for recycling are key design elements to living responsibly and being able to continue enjoying our oceans and water sports! I would worship this board and treat it as a design icon. I relish challenges and would love to learn to surf, in addition to all the other water sports I’ve already learned like kayaking and yolo boarding!
I caught my first wave and my husband’s eye at 15. He struggles with being in the ocean due to a childhood sting ray visit. At 35, he agrees to a Costa Rican surfing adventure. Here we are, set to spend 2 weeks in Haco, and I became pregnant ( that’s how psyched I was) . I was too sick to go so we cancelled. This postponement will be worth it, especially if we had another board ready to go for the family surfing vaca! No Exuses! No Fear!
“Writter by my 12 year old daughter. Her dream and passion”
All my life I’ve dreamt of surfing like pro surfers who ride 50 ft tall waves. I started surfing at 10 years old, and instantly fell in love with it. The rush that I feel when I catch a wave and ride it is amazing. I was never taught how to surf, I was just out there with every opportunity, trying to improve my surfing skills. It I were to win this surfboard, I would be out in the waves making my dream come true, improving my skills, but most of all it would be the best feeling to have a beautifully designed surf board to call my own!
I am raising donations for Love146. Love146 is an organization that rescues kids out of the child sex slave trade (check out http://www.love146.org). Kids in this slave trade are as young as 3 and as old as 18. This is an organization that changes peoples lives on a tangible and real level. In order to be rescued they have to have safe homes to go to. I’d like to have a fundraiser – including an auction – that will help open another safe home for these girls and boys to come to. This board would be an awesome addition for our auction.
I would learn how to surf so I can keep up with my 6 year old daughter who rode a wave the first time she was ever on a board. My daughter, Rylee has inspired me in so many ways and made me a better woman. I am thankful to her and glad that we live in a time and place where her potential for greatness is as limitless as the waves in the ocean.
