Wanna win this sweet surfboard?
The contest period has ended. Thank you for all the amazing entries. Stay tuned over the next few days for the announcement of our winners!
We worked with our friends over at Carve Designs to create a one-of-a-kind T9er surfboard (shaped by Entropy) for one of you lucky ladies to win. Here’s all we’re asking – dazzle us with your creativity by telling us why YOU deserve this sweet 7′ sustainably-made ride.
Would you like to fulfill a life-long dream to catch a wave? Use it as a surf deco coffee table, or save drowning children in faraway oceans? Whatever the cause, tell us in 99 words or less by posting a comment below.
Share your words by June 1st, 2009 for a chance to win the surfboard awesomeness. Fret not, ’cause we’ll be giving away 2 prizes to the runners-up ($100 gift card + Team T9 membership).
Heads Up: Our contests are only open to Title Nine eMail subscribers. They are our way of saying thanks to our loyal customers. So if you aren’t already a subscriber you will become one by submitting your entry. Click Here to read the official rules.

Surf, Baby Girl, surf.
Those waves, wahine, aren’t just the young dudes’ turf.
Were I to — wahoo! — ride a big fat swell,
That’s the message my sweet board would tell.
My girls and their friends I can already hear beg,
“That’s so cool, we want to learn, too — and shred!”
Hang ten, cowabunga, and all that goofy feet fun stuff,
Would belong to them, too, alongside the dolls, the dresses, and, later, powder puffs.
Surf, American Girl, surf,
And, every time, breezily leave behind,
A world of happy or hurt.
Finding Myself at 51
Why does anyone deserve a surfboard, or anything else? I have wondered that for 36 years.
Age 15 – first crush on a handsome California surfer. He introduced me to Cream, The Beach Boys and his passion for surfing. Sadly, I never learned to surf. What a shame because I deserved the hot surfer and I deserved to learn to surf!
Why did I sell out my passion for excitement and settle for stability?
I just got a new swimsuit and some cool boardshorts, all I need now is the surfboard!!! Watch out Moondoggie!
I would use this surfboard to enter the sea, and it would allow the seduction of the waves to erode the edges from this life. I would use this board to renew my soul.
Awakening, refreshing, salty – cold, Ocean; such an absolute pushover it’s the moon’s putty. That golden orb which swayed the earth with such tenderness the Oceans moved the moon, to get to know this tender loving moon reflection.
Seeing how invariably momentously invigorating conquering the fear of under-toes can be Ocean waves almost whisked me away once, so with a board; happiness! Yeah, I’d probably not break some waves at a local carve; simply harmoniously subtle tranquil zesty absorbent toes would reach forth into spacious never-ending horizons. – Afloat in the sea solar tears of life.
You would NEVER catch me on a surfboard… I know – what a wimp! But I do have a spunky, bright blue eyed little girl who is fearless and I hope she will someday take all the chances and adventures that I never took… I want to give her all the opportunities as a woman to show what she is made of, what she can accomplish and that she can dream with her eyes wide open! This board will be a reminder to her that her mother believes in her, supports her and loves her.
I lived on the ocean, now I live in the desert.
What I miss most about the ocean is being able to go surfing. This nice board you have would be perfect for me, not too long nor too short. I don’t have a board, don’t want to rent one; I need to use the same board. I need my own. I haven’t kept up with “surf tech” to know what all the latest and greatest boards and trends are, but I can certainly trust Title Nine’s choice! Please consider me in your contest to win the surfboard!
The ocean is my music. The surfboard is my instrument of expression.
The ocean is my therapy. The surfboard is my couch.
I need an ocean tool for fitness, strength, peace, pleasure, and socialization.
The Carve surfboard is my eternal color…aqua. It doesn’t get any better.
I have been a teacher for students with a language based learning difficulty focusing on dyslexia for 21 years. My students come from all over the world for Landmark’s unique education. I have always wanted my positive attitude and cheery spirit to be an example for my students. Although I do not have a learning difficulty, I’ve endured many other challenges. I’m an insulin dependent diabetic, and I have undergone multiple surgeries. I have recently been diagnosed with cancer. Winning a surfboard, I would spend more time in the ocean, focus on the positive and look forward to healing.
I live in Long Island, New York. We have the best of both worlds–Long Island Sound and the Atlantic Ocean. I have been an ardent boogie-boarder for the past 12 years. Although I am not out there with the “big boys” yet, each year I become stronger and more experienced. Sound boring? Not if the woman you are talking to is 56 years old! I b-board with my kids when they are in town, and when they are not, I meet up with my fellow “boogie-board budds”, a group of men who are all 50 years or older. (We are still looking for some women recruits). I have always wanted to learn how to surf, and one of these days, I plan to take a vacation to attend Las Olas Surf Camp for women. I don’t know how many days I have left on this lovely planet of ours, but one thing I know for sure, and that is to make the best of each day. I derive such joy from boogie-boarding. I want to carry that to the next level and learn to surf. Thank you.
the contest intro stressed creativity… Creativity to me is color and pictures and drawings… not typed words, necessarily. I sent my colorful entry through snail mail and even tho that IS changing the rules , isn’t that what Title IX (the LAW) intended to do? Change things – to make them better and more fair and to promote equality and allow women and girls to express themselves and enjoy themselves and to have a chance. Give me a chance… please consider my entry . Thanks!
