Wanna win this sweet surfboard?
The contest period has ended. Thank you for all the amazing entries. Stay tuned over the next few days for the announcement of our winners!
We worked with our friends over at Carve Designs to create a one-of-a-kind T9er surfboard (shaped by Entropy) for one of you lucky ladies to win. Here’s all we’re asking – dazzle us with your creativity by telling us why YOU deserve this sweet 7′ sustainably-made ride.
Would you like to fulfill a life-long dream to catch a wave? Use it as a surf deco coffee table, or save drowning children in faraway oceans? Whatever the cause, tell us in 99 words or less by posting a comment below.
Share your words by June 1st, 2009 for a chance to win the surfboard awesomeness. Fret not, ’cause we’ll be giving away 2 prizes to the runners-up ($100 gift card + Team T9 membership).
Heads Up: Our contests are only open to Title Nine eMail subscribers. They are our way of saying thanks to our loyal customers. So if you aren’t already a subscriber you will become one by submitting your entry. Click Here to read the official rules.

Being almost 60 years young a blue surfboard would not be very useful to me. I am terrified of being in water over my head and the thought of riding a wave makes me want to puke. (Plus it reminds me of Beach Blanket Bingo). So I would rather win free clothes if they fit me. A friend passed this catalog to me and the clothes look great. It would be nice to have a shopping trip to Austin or Colorado Springs instead. This is very interesting marketing.
Send me real estate buyers if you really want to help me.
But I could place this sweet surfboard in front of my house that is for sale. It would generate a lot of interest from my neighbors and I could see how long it would take for someone to “steal” it!
Or I could give it to a charity to raffle?
I took my first trip to Huntington Beach, CA when I was 17 and got to see Sunny Garcia surf. Awesome. It was also the only chance I have ever had to get on a Board and I took it. 10 years later, I am a history major and I am writing my honors thesis about Duke Kahanamoku and how surfing changed the world. The entire department thinks I am crazy but I know what it is out there. And I love it.
Well, this may sound silly, but I couldn’t sleep the night I read about your surfboard contest and now my heart is racing in exhilaration, as I attempt to brainstorm a brilliant, symbolic surfing tale that will speak to your hearts and win youl over. However I need help to transition towards existentialism and I reach to plug in my heating pad. Oh crap, I can’t qui…..te, ugh, ahh, rrrrreach. Well, isn’t that a great analogy! Gosh, I know I have a wonderful life, but sometimes I feel as though I just can’t quite reach those goals. You know like: 1. Well behaved children 2. Peace loving co-workers 3. levitation (well, maybe I should be more realistic) When working as a therapist in our local nursing home I am constantly asking my elderly friends about their lives and if they had any unmet goals in life. It got me thinking. The one thing I DESPERATELY want to do is to surf! Who knows if I can do it. I am going to attempt this week as I fly to San Diego from Virginia. But I do know one thing, I am choosing to reach the extra bit to reach this life goal. (By the way, Is 92 y.o. too old to catch a wave? I hope not, Betty said she wants to come along!)
To be lucky in life, to share with others, to take good care of, to give a happy home, to travel with, to share stories with friends about good times, good waves and interesting people. But most of all to use for surfing, this board would have a wonderful life here in Carlsbad, CA, it would be loved by many.
Why do I want this sweet surfboard? Let me tell you…If I won, the first thing I would do is book flights to California!. I would bring my three girls (maybe my husband) to the best week in our life!!. Show my 8 & 10 and 19 year old what I tell them everyday- try new things- dont be afraid! Surfing! Why not!! We are life long NH residents, dont get me wrong, NH is nice, but why not explore and have fun!. This is what I want for my girls and my life. Work hard, yes..but you need to make time for adventure, and life is to short, so when you have an opportunity grab it and have a great time! Thanks for the chance! P.S. Dont bother mailing it to NH- we can pick it up in La Jolla!!
I would love to win the surfboard. If I did – I would give it to my best friend.
My dear friend Beth and I have been friends since 1974. We met in college
at Illinois State University. We went separate ways after college to begin our teaching careers, but we always stayed in touch.
On our last vacation/ just the girls, Beth wanted to buy a surf board but was
concerned about how to get it back on the plane. I would love to give her
the surfboard to say thanks for being a great friend for 35 years.
THANKS FOR: for driving to my parents after my grandmother died, sharing tears with me when things were tough, for ALL the laughter we continue to share, organizing wonderful vacations/ just for the girls , helping organize my surprise
retirement party, being a really good friend who is never far away.
My first day of learning to surf I was guaranteed to stand up ( per the dread locked white dude) or my money back.
Splatter! Air! My brain screamed as I sucked in volumes of water after another of many wipe outs and loss of my bikini top.
I am very outdoorsy and have camped, kayaked, sailed etc.,even bungee jumped.
The one big thing on my list is “learn how to surf”. I’m 47 and time is running out.
If I had that big beautiful surfboad, it would be in my Element and off surfing I would go.YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If I won the Carve, I’d donate it to ChicaBrava girls’ surf camp in Nicaragua. I’d ask owner Ashley Blaylock to donate a camp week to a girls’ charity. Harnessing Mother Nature’s power is a metaphor for unleashing the limitless potential within. Surfing inspires empowerment!
If “closed out,” I’d donate the stick on my next scuba adventure, Vieques. I live in upstate NY; what am I gonna do with a surfboard? Then again, I could swap my Barney wear for Beach Betty threads and discover if I’m a gifted ‘goofy-footed’ Chica Brava at 46. Yes!
I had spinal revision surgery in 2006. It consisted of two 8 hour operations to revise my spine from childhood scoliosis. It had come to a point that I was unable to walk. If I did not attempt the surgery I would be bound to life in a wheel chair. Had the surgery. Now, a little over three years, I can do almost anything!! I spent my childhood going to Cape Cod and riding the waves on Coast Guard Beach. I never, ever thought I might have a chance to do something that I had done as a young girl after my scoliosis as an adult that needed to be revised!!! How lucky am I????
I am a mom to 2 (almost 3) girls. I am a surfer and passionate about the sport. The little free time I have, I have volunteered to teach other girls and moms how to surf. I hope to teach my own girls about my love for the ocean and guide them into a sport they can grow old doing.
