Wanna win this sweet surfboard?
The contest period has ended. Thank you for all the amazing entries. Stay tuned over the next few days for the announcement of our winners!
We worked with our friends over at Carve Designs to create a one-of-a-kind T9er surfboard (shaped by Entropy) for one of you lucky ladies to win. Here’s all we’re asking – dazzle us with your creativity by telling us why YOU deserve this sweet 7′ sustainably-made ride.
Would you like to fulfill a life-long dream to catch a wave? Use it as a surf deco coffee table, or save drowning children in faraway oceans? Whatever the cause, tell us in 99 words or less by posting a comment below.
Share your words by June 1st, 2009 for a chance to win the surfboard awesomeness. Fret not, ’cause we’ll be giving away 2 prizes to the runners-up ($100 gift card + Team T9 membership).

Summer’s fickle beauty.
Warm sage wind draws me and Jesusita.
Cool ocean solace.

34 years ago I was born in a small town in the Midwest. The golden wheat fields were beautiful and I can still smell the fresh cut hay, but I longed to feel the rush of the salty ocean water rising behind me. There was no surf to be found where my roots run deep, yet years later I find myself a single mom and middle school English teacher living along the white sand beaches of Florida. Life has passed pleasantly, but I still yearn to ride the waves and feel the satisfaction of standing up on a board.
This surfboard will be the first step in the dream I have had since I was a young girl.
Waves crashing over
the board is my only friend
one with the ocean
At the age of 42 I fostered and adopted a 5 ½ year old girl who was rescued from her three siblings and mother. She had a horrific life and I have thrown myself into saving her for the last 6.5 years. She has since come a long way, and is now beautiful, smiley, and happy, but still has many special needs. Working as a marine biologist I have spent every waking hour with her or at work, and taking care of the house, dogs, bird, garden, and mice. I need to find some serenity myself, soon!
After recently turning the big four-oh, I have begun to think about personal goals and things not yet accomplished in my life. I have had a love affair with the ocean for as long as I can remember. It has always been my dream to surf. I had a group of surfer friends in high school who had offered to teach me to surf, but my mother would never allow it. I left home very young and started a family and had repsonsiblities that have kept me from pursuing so many of my dreams. Now that I am older and 2 of my 4 kids are out of the house, I am finding the time to begin going after my goals. My husband and I love to travel and one of our next vacations is my pick. My dream vacation is to go to Costa Rica and surf. Winning the sweet board in this contest would not only bring me closer to realizing my dream, but will make the experience so much richer. When I retire I plan to spend a large majority of my time surfing, so I must get started now. Having a board will be such a great motivation to get out there and do it!
This is a poem about my two daughters.
Two girls,
Out in the sea
Bobbing up and down on their boards,
As cute as can be
Their hair sun-streaked,
Their focus at its best,
They paddle on their little boards,
Awaiting the next crest.
They move with the wave,
Coming closer to the shore,
And squeal with delight,
Then yell and shout for more.
My daughters are now 19 and 20, and still love to surf. But they have now outgrown their little boards, and we can’t afford a new one. Thanks, Title 9. You’re the best.
I’m Naiara. I’m 19, and I LOVE surfing. I go surfing in France and Spain a lot, with my family. I also love to go surfing with my dog. I love hanging 10, it’s totally gnarly dude! I also love catching the HUGE waves– it makes me feel like I can fly. I’ve been getting really good, but I haven’t been able to rent a surfboard in a long time because it is expensive. Getting this surfboard would make my dream of being a professional surfer come true. I love you, Title 9! <3 Naiara
Hi! My name is Maddie. I am 19 years old, and I have an older sister Emma who is 20. We love to go to our house in Maine and go surfing, swimming, diving, running, tanning, playing with our dog, and everything else you can possibly imagine. We love surfing especially, and we always rent surfboards from a place nearby our house. However, we are getting to be really good, and it would be amazing if we could get a free surfboard, since we are really tied up with college expenses. Thanks! 🙂 Maddie
Six years ago I was told I wouldn’t be able to have my own child.
Five years ago I gave birth to my beautiful son.
Four and a half years ago I found myself without a job, a home, or a husband…..
Four years ago I went back to work.
Three years ago I bought a home for my son and I.
Two years ago I began my MBA program.
Today my degree is almost complete
Life is such a challenge. Each time we fail, and then pick ourselves up and succeed when the probabilities are against us we increase our self-confidence that much more.
I share my story and offer encouragement to others whenever I can.
I have never surfed. I am forty-five years old and I am living my second life.
I would love to add the challenge and the exilaration or riding in a wave to my life list.
Cheers to all the women out there that are not afraid to fail, and who find strength in overcoming the odds 🙂
I have a daughter who is 11 years old. She is the most amazing person you will ever meet! She is so young and already helps out the needy, homeless, rescued animals, and raises money to send to other kids in poor countries. Our family would like to give her the surfboard of her life. Before she gave her life to helping others, Hailey (my daughter) goes surfing every time she has the chance. Now, in these economically hard times, it is hard for her mother and I to buy her a surfboard. Please pick this amazing girl.
Thanks!
