Would you like to fulfill a life-long dream to catch a wave? Use it as a surf deco coffee table, or save drowning children in faraway oceans? Whatever the cause, tell us in 99 words or less by posting a comment below.
Share your words by June 1st, 2009 for a chance to win the surfboard awesomeness. Fret not, ’cause we’ll be giving away 2 prizes to the runners-up ($100 gift card + Team T9 membership).

I used to drive 2 hours each way every weekend just to surf. The ocean was my zen, riding waves was pure bliss, pearling made me laugh and reminded me not to take life too seriously. Then life happened and the surfing eventually ended, but I’ve kept in touch with the ocean by volunteering to rehabilitate marine mammals every week. A new board would be the perfect inspiration to head back out into the waves and start all over again as born again kook.
Born a mermaid with duck feet, to a landlocked state… Submerged in tub/lake/pool until pickled. To the desert growing legs and parched. Into the Ocean above the deepest trench fearing all below, around. Back to the Desert to shrivel up. Now, taking on big Earth as an elemental wanderer, trading my waters. Yet undone, holding back mighty waters from sublimating with Ocean in fear I will join her ecstatic roar. The greatest roar is in the curiosity of learning and returning the favor by teaching others. To subvert fear in reclaimation. We all wave.
If I were to win, the surfboard would be a gift for my daughter. As a young coach, she stood up for female athletes and title nine legislation at a major state university – successfully starting the first women’s golf team and being the youngest women’s golf coach in Texas. She now is working on the second level of her lpga card and spends most of her time giving instruction and working pretty much 7 days a week. When she does get a chance to go surfing, she borrows her dad’s longboard. She is passionate about teaching others and her favorite ‘resting place’ is the beach! Thanks for considering my request!
Being a double Gemini means 4 personalities, they read like this: mom, business owner, musician and the T9 girl that is emerging this year as I timidly resume my previously interrupted childhood. In 2 days, I will be spending my first Mother’s day alone (scary & exciting). On May 31st I will finally turn 40 and my oldest son will turn 21. They tried sending me on a yoga/surf retreat. It didn’t work out. Winning the T9 surfboard and having the support of the new Marvel Bra will ensure that the T9 girl in me will get there someday.
My friend Melissa deserves your groovy surfboard. She’s a single mom, works as editor for a hip home & garden magazine, freelances, and is smitten with surfing. She has gone out twice and was saving for a suit and board. But on Friday the 13th, the water heater in her attic burst and her condo was unlivable for weeks. After re-painting, she has her heart set on a surf theme for the living room. I can’t say whether she’d ride the board or work it into her decor, but she sure could use it!
I love the lifestyle that Title 9 promotes. I am a 42 year old woman and I am the mother of 3 amazing children. Even though I have a congential heart condition I strive to keep my mind, spirit and body sharp and in shape. I am getting back in shape and really focused on strengthening my body – the stories (& clothes) you have in the catalog inspire me to do this.
One of my dreams is to attend a surf camp and have set this goal as my 45th birthday present. I would love to accomplish this dream on a customized surf board.
Yay surfing!
This would be for my sister, Penny Christopher. She and her family moved to Kona, from land locked Idaho, about 4 years ago. She is slowly acquiring her beach, snorkel and surf gear, but this would be such a sweet addition. She should be in your catalog, she does custom cabinet work, looks good in anything, has a great smile and attitude, and when she wins it would be two for one winners!! She would be able to teach me how to surf when I get to visit! What could be better than that?
This board would be a welcome addition to my quiver, with a special distinction as a friends and family board! Now 35, I fell in love with surfing six years ago. Any opportunity to help a friend or sibling into a wave brings pure joy. A perfect beginner board, it would allow me to share the stoke freely. Fueled by a passion for surfing, I now reside in a fringe New York beach community. This board would be waxed and ready for any visitor or neighbor seeking an instant escape from the frenzy of city life.
Surfing has always been a dream of mine. I lived in Hawaii for 5 years as a child and never got a chance to go out and connect with the ocean. Now I’m close to graduating from college, and I still haven’t fulfilled that dream. I will learn how to surf at some point, but having a sustainable board to help me catch an amazing wave will help that process. I am part of the Marine Mammal Stranding Team and Sustainable U, and I am surrounded by people bragging about surfing and being sustainable. With this board, I would be able to not only go out and do the things I only hear about, but I get to send a message out to everyone that “Sustainability can be fun.” This board is my dream, and with it, I could have the perfect getaway I so very much crave.
