Wanna win this sweet surfboard?
The contest period has ended. Thank you for all the amazing entries. Stay tuned over the next few days for the announcement of our winners!
We worked with our friends over at Carve Designs to create a one-of-a-kind T9er surfboard (shaped by Entropy) for one of you lucky ladies to win. Here’s all we’re asking – dazzle us with your creativity by telling us why YOU deserve this sweet 7′ sustainably-made ride.
Would you like to fulfill a life-long dream to catch a wave? Use it as a surf deco coffee table, or save drowning children in faraway oceans? Whatever the cause, tell us in 99 words or less by posting a comment below.
Share your words by June 1st, 2009 for a chance to win the surfboard awesomeness. Fret not, ’cause we’ll be giving away 2 prizes to the runners-up ($100 gift card + Team T9 membership).
Heads Up: Our contests are only open to Title Nine eMail subscribers. They are our way of saying thanks to our loyal customers. So if you aren’t already a subscriber you will become one by submitting your entry. Click Here to read the official rules.
My daughter will soon begin her monthly moontime. Since she was five, I’ve told her that I am taking her to The Big Island to celebrate her sacred right of passage. My mom thought, as many women do, that the monthly “period” was a curse. I can’t remember when my moons began because no one cared. Nonetheless, I have always felt the power of this time. I want my daughter to remember her first step into womanhood and what better way than a mother/daughter trip to Punalu’u for swimming and surfing? This surfboard completes my vision. Thank you.
The Surfing Room
I already have 5 surfboards. But they are on my floor in ‘The Surfing Room’ — printed on an area rug! If I had a REAL surfboard, I could enjoy some of the best things in the world…
Sunshine.
A salty breeze.
Warm water.
And of course, muscles that have the it-feels-so-good-aching afterwords.
A real surfboard would be better than 5 printed on an area rug.
We live in Nebraska & have 4 children. A great place to live & raise children, but not alot of oceans here! The boy’s bedroom is decorated in “surfer”, but winning this surfboard would show them they can PARTICIPATE! They can learn something DIFFERENT & unique from what they know. Something they can DO and not just watch other people do on tv or see in the pictures of “surfers” on their walls. They would learn there is more to this awesome world, then just what is around them! Winning this surfboard would be a gift to our family!
I was fortunate to grow up near the beach, but never learned to surf. It was a “boy” activity when I was a little girl. Now that I have two amazing girls, I know that there are no limits to what a “girl” can do! My oldest daughter starting surfing with her dad at the age of 4. Having my own surfboard would leave me with no excuses for not trying to catch my own wave! I also know that my two little surf nymphs would love to share that sweet Carve Designs surfboard with their mother.
Surfing is my way to connect with the ocean. It is the ultimate way of self-cleansing. It makes me feel more passionate and deeply about life that any words can describe. It is the human feeling of devotion. The ocean washes away all fear and unhappiness, cleansing the spirit of negative energy. When you surf, you are not simply riding a piece of wood or fiberglass; you are allowing your soul to open up to a panacea.
By winning this amazing surfboard, I would cleanse my soul and enjoy the heart of the Earth; the ocean.

“Someday, she will come,”
They tell you.
She stops for a visit,
But you do not recognize her.
She is subtle.
One day,
You look in the mirror.
I mean, REALLY look.
You can no longer deny it.
She has moved in to stay.
You look for a yogi, a trainer, a therapist.
You jog with wasted knees….cursing.
She is such a witch.
Over time, you see her good qualities.
Maybe she could be a friend….an ally.
You begin to believe again.
A surfboard.
Now, there’s an idea.
Age is just a number and I hope to prove it on that gorgeous board! I learned to ski at 30, went sky diving at 42, learned to snow board at 44, and would love to learn how to surf before I’m 50. Its time for the ladies to rule the waves! 🙂
Sweetly deserving and ever hopeful am I, with intentions and longings for this surfboard strong and true…
a tribute, a gift, this surfboard you offer, especially created for a surfer girl true
sarah, dearest friend,
amazing woman of rivers, mountains, lakes and seas, lover of fluidity,
faithful and strong sister to me,
true water baby-girly-woman, sailor, diver, swimmer,
rider, graceful and fierce rider of turquoise waves, sparkling, salty….
water is the intended recepient of this earth happy surfboard,
there is simply and unequivocally
no way around it, you see?
From WA to CA in my 93 Accord.
Mamasita in shotgun, down Highway 1 we soared.
I settled in and started my new job,
My roommate never came and then my car got robbed.
But life’s still sweet on San Diego turf.
My brother came to visit and taught me how to surf.
What joy I found there ocean soaring.
Who says life is boring?
Someday I’ll be the figurehead of my own lady ship.
but for now my feet dignify a foamy rental jip.
I hope that soon you all agree,
this beauty board should be with me.
