I don't know Barb but her story inspired me to lead a more involved life. I do not have all the talents she possess but I do have a great love of the outdoors and a little more free time than I used to have. Thanks for motivating me.

Thanks to Amy, who by weaving a story out a short interview and some photos, reminds me to feel grateful for my family, friends and the life I live. For the fun of a new friend: Amy. Yes, Jane: hi...I loved Wyo and enduring memories of summer days spent with so many wonderful girls and women inspire my hiking, swimming and boat play..... and Wow: Jenn! You are so kind! How are you?!Love to you and your Mom! I do know Karen, but didn't realize we had this connection.
(I hope Title9 can facilitate in an exchange of email addresses, please?)
And dear Becky, the feelings are so much more than mutual. We women are so lucky to have other amazing women in our lives, and those of us who have sisters (and Becky and I are 2 of 5) are very blessed indeed!
So let's don our colorful (if sometimes worn ragged) Title9 duds, and live the active life! cheers, Missy and all you Title 9 folks!

My sister-in-law in Santa Fe forwarded me the online link to the wonderful article about Barb, because she saw the inquiry about the Camp Wyonegonic connection. Yes, Barb went to Wyonegonic for many years (with her sisters), and I was a camper and a CIT with her (and my mom was head counselor for some of Barb's Wyo years). Although I haven't seen her for many years, I hold her in very high regard, as she was always so kind to me and other campers. She had (has) such an amazing spirit when she was a teen--and all those great canoing/backpacking/ camping trips (do the Umbagog and Mooselookmeguntic ring any bells?)--are filled with memories of Barb's strength, happiness, and energy. She was definitely a standout!

One final question--I'm wondering if Barb knows my friend Karen Davis, who also lives on Bainbridge Island?

Thanks,
Jenn Hills MacDonald

Good afternoon -
I've ordered from your catalogue several times and get your emails on what's new and on sale, etc . . . . I saw the name of the person, Barb Trafton, in the email and am wondering if I went to camp with her in Maine?! Did she mention anything about a Camp Wyonegonic? I swear she was a camper/or maybe counselor by the time I started going . . . and she had a couple of sisters there as well possibly?
Just curious!
Thanks!

Barb is my sister and I am extraordinarily proud of her. This well-written article captures so much of who she is, and yet it can't begin to reveal the truly artful way in which she lives her life, with structure and improvisation both, competition and compassion, and great love. The anthropologist Mary Catherine Bateson wrote a book years ago with a wonderful title, Composing a Life. This Barb does with great grace and deep creativity. She is an inspiration and a gift and, as you can see, I love her dearly!
