YO-YO! Yoga- ahhhh.

I took my first yoga class in college.
It was the only class the pre-hubby and I could find that we could take together.
Bowling? Nope. Bad time.
Golf? Nope. Already filled.
So, off to yoga we went.
He was a trooper and did his best. However, I….. was hooked.
One year later in Brooklyn, I found a yoga class where the instructor was everything a good granola yogic teacher should be. I took that class right up until my belly from my first pregnancy was about to pop. I had an awesome set of lungs by the end after all that ‘Fire Breath’ stuff.

On and off since, I’ve been able to take some yoga classes, but never like that… Once a week, Every week, with NOTHING more important? But 3 kids later, fat droopy butt, and too many afterschool activities? In short. It’s been years. And my 30-ish body has had enough. That, and we found a seriously affordable gym here in my new town, new life.

Yesterday. Was the first day of my renewed love affair with my spurned lover.
And it felt good.
And I vow to be loyal.
And I HURT all over! Namaste.

All photos taken by hubby, Seth. Yes. That really is me. In all my glory…Ha!

T9 take on 6-Word Slam

I recently read about an online magazine which asked folks to submit their biography in six words. It got me thinking about a T9 take on that 6-word memoir. Could any of us find 6 words to encompass all that fitness is and does for us? Here’s some of our first attempts. (more…)

Butter Button-Up Review

My hands down favorite fabric for pretty much any activity is our “Butter” products (by Mountain Hardwear). I doubt I could do the fabric justice by trying to put into words how incredibly soft it is, how it never binds but moves with you and how I never get that claustrophobic feeling because it breathes so well. Our most recent incarnation of Butter is the Butter Button Up. This top will keep you warm and comfy in fall and winter whether you are working out or running around town. I have seen this top on many sizes and shapes of women in our office and it looks great on everyone. My favorite thing is how comfortable it is and I love the longer length on the arms that allows for wrapping up cold hands and thumbholes that guarantee no bunching or riding up no matter what I’m doing.

  • Butter Button Up is a slim fit: if you want a garment to wick moisture from your skin it must fit closely but this does not rub of chafe.
  • It dries so quickly I don’t feel self-conscious walking around after a workout.
  • Flattering cut for many body types.
  • It is seriously comfortable!

    What’s your Title Nine Caption?

Perhaps you think the real women in our catalog are super women, perhaps you think their lives are unattainable or even made up. But take a minute to think about what your own caption might look like, a caption that gives voice only to the good, a caption that does not let negativity and self-censorship creep in.

Would you see yourself in your own caption? Jump on our website and post your own caption, see if you recognize the woman in the words. If you don’t, you should start to. Or post a friend’s and see if she’ll recognize herself.

I’ll finish with this caption, does it sound like someone you know, someone you could know?

Full-time mom, sometime triathlete, operations expert, former P.I., league founder, community builder.

    A Modern Day Renaissance Woman

By all accounts, Title Nine customer Barb Trafton leads an inspired life. A full-time mom, community activist, artist, and athlete, she is a woman of many talents. In fact, Barb is a modern Renaissance woman of sorts. She’s an independent thinker who can champion a group cause. She’s a fierce competitor who is wary of the pitfalls of competition. When presented with the choice to do something easy or interesting, she’ll choose interesting every time. (more…)
