Break with Tradition

By Staff • May 9th, 2009 • Category: Move It

It’s that special day which comes only once a year. How are you celebrating your momma? Now we don’t wanna hear about any brunch – so you got any new traditions? A few years ago we started one ourselves with our Annual Mother’s Day Title Nine 9k in Boulder, Co. We realize not everyone can make it (and we’ll miss you). But you can still share the way you t9-ify Mother’s Day below. Make sure to check out a few pics of us with our Momma’s.  Aaahhhhh, Memories!

  1. Marcia K. de la Cerda says:

One year we had a special picnic at our house for our female friends whose
mothers had passed away or who no longer talked to their moms!!!!!
(Seriously!) One girl who still had a mother brought her to our party and
we treated her like a “Queen for the Day!”

I did this because I did “Mom-care” until my mother passed away at the
age of 95, and the idea of a mom-less Mother’s Day the year after she
    died was unthinkable.

This year we did the old buffet routine, and I must say, I believe I’ll go back to our
    picnic next year!

    Sincerely,
    Marcia K. de la Cerda
(Who did not “become” a mother until she was married at the age of 54
    to a widower!)
