If this recipe is not for you, don’t make it. I am glad that not all the focus is on health food. Thanks for the treat.
I’m all for a really good piece of chocolate cake now and then to keep my temple in balance, but 2 oz. of RED food coloring? Yikes. Shortening? Yikes again. My favorite dessert is a molassas cake but no recipe here: flour, sugar, butter, molassas, baking soda, hot water . . That’s about it. Molassas is good for any soul.
A little piece of cake never hurt anyone! Relax!
This is AWESOME! I’ve always wanted to learn how to make this =D Thanks!
I like to think that junk food is an unnecessary part of any holiday. If we’re cooking for Valentine’s Day, why not use colorful red berries and fruits for dessert instead? Throw away the cheaply made candy. There is no reason that tasty food has to be made from nasty ingredients.
If I want to surprise my sweetheart, I’m not pulling out cups of butter and sugar…I’m pulling out my sexiest red lingerie or, instead of spending that time in the kitchen making junk, I’ll be cooking up a healthy, fancy salmon or turkey dinner with a glass of red wine. I work really hard to stay healthy; my body is a temple, and I will not pollute it.
