Skort Stories

Once upon a time long, long ago at Title Nine our founder (Missy Park) wasn’t too keen on skirts or dresses, so getting them in the catalog was a tough sell. This was before we became enlightened. We thought that a skort (not the old school kind that looked like shorts in the back – ugh!) would be the perfect thing for the gal on the go. You can still look dressed up and a little girly but in a very functional piece of clothing that allows you to climb fences – or heck, even run and do cartwheels if you want.
We began offering skorts that looked stylish instead of dorky (hidden shorts with nifty stash pockets), and using technical materials to achieve the ultimate in form and function. Soon we were working to get every skirt we saw turned into a skort (well not every skirt but close!). Our customers saw the practicality of skorts and started buying them as fast as we could make them… and they still do!
That’s how skorts were born here at Title Nine.
The End.

“My middle name is Pants. Or rather I should say my middle name is No Skirts, Dresses or Anything Close. But then my life was changed by the Run Around Skort.
Folks in the office here at Title Nine were convinced if they could get one on me, I would be a convert. Years and months passed. Conspiracies were launched in an effort to have me wear one. Finally our head merchant, Alice, said she had one she knew I would love and would I be willing to simply give it a try? I relented and the rest is history.
The Run Around Skort is simply awesome. Alice gave me two and I have run, bike commuted to work, gone out to dinner, walked around Lake Merritt and even took a photo of me in one for my Mom. It is extremely comfortable, dries super quick, and I feel fashionable wearing it! I still adore pants but I am happy to now have to change my middle name. “

I LOVE your skorts! I bought my first about 5 years ago and loved wearing it, but didn’t think it would draw any attention till my girlfriends and sister commented on just how great it was. I don’t have great legs either, like some of the gals write above, but somehow in a skort, all is well. I have 2 and keep trying on other ones at T9 to find others that will fit my small waist/ larger hips shape. Keep ‘em coming!
Greetings my T9 Sista’s!
I’m a vibrant, vivacious and an avid 47 year old jump roper. I spend alot of hours jumping rope and lifting weights for not just my health but sanity too!
Truth be told, I wouldn’t jump rope in nothing but a skort. It covers the “junk” and makes me feel absolutely sexy, plus my skorts drive my husband wild.
I’m the only woman at my gym that works out in skorts – yeah I get the looks and hope to see more women bringing back the “old school” sexiness of the skort.

I am a teacher in a very old, unairconditioned building. Baltimore is famous for its heat and humidity, and May, June and September can sometimes be unbearable. I love dresses and skirts ( I guess I am in the minority here,) however, I teach 10 -12 year olds and I once caught a boy on the floor looking up my skirt. Skorts to the rescue. Now, I don’t worry about that anymore. ( Not to mention my embarrassment when I walked out of the teacher’s bathroom one day, picked my class up from lunch and listened to a lot of giggling. I figured they were just wound up from lunch-until one of my young ladies whispered in my ear that my skirt was stuck in my underwear! )
Our family was on vacation in Burlington, Vermont. We decided to go for a nice dinner in downtown Burlington. I was wearing a white skort with a dressing sleeveless blouse. I purchased this skort brand new for this vacation from a top department store. Well, we finished our dinner and decided that we would go for a walk around Church Street downtown Burlington where there were hundreds and hundreds of people. My husband grabbed me and escorted me to the restrooms and I didn’t know what was going on. Someone had spilled some kind of raspberry dessert on my chair before I sat down and it was all over the back of my skort! I was so embarrassed! The restaurant paid the cleaning bill and the skort did come clean to my amazement. That’s my skort story.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your skorts!!!! I have several. A girl just can’t have 1, sort of like potato chips. Anyway, I find them awesome for city, country, biking, running after my 7yr. old. I take them to the beach and whenever I travel. The black one I own never wrinkles in a suitcase. I have bought some cheaper skorts in Wal-Mart but they are not as good in quality as Title Nines are. Keep up the good work Title 9- you have an avid customer for life. P.S. I especially like when the skort has a pocket for all my keys, coins, etc. P.S.S. I came in 2nd in a local 5K run this past October proudly wearing one of my skorts!!!
Thanks,
