Our make-up kit is different. That’s because we don’t use professional models. Just real women who are athletes and moms with careers and causes. They really DO the activities on our shoots, often using their own boards, bikes, and backpacks.
Former special education teacher turned small business owner. Dedicated surfer turned competitive skateboarder. Adventurous woman turned unstoppable force. When monthly blood transfusions to treat her hypogammaglobulinemia threatened to keep her from hitting the waves, she took to the concrete instead.
There aren’t many 40 year old novice, competitive female skaters out there, but that didn’t hold Stephanie back. She dove head first (sometimes literally) into skateboarding, even when it meant being the oldest skater at the competitions. (more…)
We headed to Alaska to test out our favorite winter gear and learned a thing or two about racing a team of dogs in the world’s foremost sled race, the Iditarod. Dog mushers, Laura and Maggie, took us behind the scenes at the Susan Butcher Training Facilities for a day of hard work, serious training, and plenty of wet doggy kisses.
