But the truth is, we have it a lot better than our sisters before us. NONE of their dresses had pockets, and what pockets they had were hard-to-access pouches tied on underneath their skirts. They moved to carrying purses because that was actually EASIER. (Yikes.) (more…)
Pockets are a cultural thing at T9HQ, tracing back to pre-suffragette struggles, and one that we take seriously and very personally. The one-liner version of history on this is that women had their pocket rights revoked and were purposely burdened with purses and bags to slow them down. So, it makes sense that at Title Nine – where we’re all about empowering women to do more, and move more – we demand pockets.
We’ve been at this game for over thirty years now, and from handwarmer to stash, to envelope, cargo, and zippered, we thought we’d done them all. It turns out that we were just getting started. (more…)

We want to take a moment to talk about something really important: holiday weight gain.
Sure, this time of year it’s as easy to lay a couple of pounds across the midriff as it is to lose your footing in a snow drift, but that’s not what we’re talking about. We’re not worried about how many slices of pie you’ll have or whether you take a nap after turkey. We’re talking about the sheer density of everything else: the hefty to-do lists, the fat stacks of gifts, the overstuffed grocery carts and suitcases and winter jackets.
So how will we cut back this holiday season? We know we’ll still buy the gifts, make the trips, eat the pie. But maybe we can take some of the other weight off of your shoulders, literally.
Alice, our VP of Merch, is used to combing through endless rows of products and gear at trade shows. She has piles of skirts on her desk. Racks of jackets stashed around the office. Frankly, there isn’t much she hasn’t seen before.
So when she stumbled across the Satorisan 20K Sandal in a local San Anselmo shoe store during a weekend shopping trip, she had to know more. (But first, she bought a pair. Because, as we all know, you should never pass up a great shoe.)
She’d never heard of Satorisan before, but after a week of wearing them, she was sold. They were hip, felt kinda euro, and were comfy as all get out.
